Statement by Rick Cannon’s Family

[Georgetown, South Carolina, July 5, 2022—] Rick Cannon, Chief Sales Officer at AGRU America, Inc., has passed away. His family has shared the following statement:

Our beloved Ricky Dean Cannon passed away on July 5, 2022, in his home in Blanco, Texas, after a long, courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones as he gazed at his beloved golf course, watching for the birds at the feeder.

Rick was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, and brother. He had many wonderful friends and was a well-loved and respected community member.

Rick’s thirty-four-year-long career in the plastics industry began at Gundle Lining and concluded with AGRU America. He had many different roles and traveled extensively worldwide for work and leisure- from fishing in Alaska to hunting in Uruguay or golfing in Scotland.  He was as comfortable with the place as he was with the people.  Those who had the opportunity to work with and spend time with Rick soon realized his zest for life and that his personality was as large as Texas.

He is survived by his wife Audrey, their two dogs, Hondo and Dollie Mae; his parents, Linda and Al Fell, from Blanco, TX; daughter Kelsey, son-in-law Cal, and their beautiful son who Rick was “Pops” to, Dean Allen Boudreaux from Tomball, TX. He is also survived by his sister Sue, brother-in-law Dave Calderone from Sebring, Florida, and his two step-sons, Harrison and Hayden Wallace of Austin, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either Hill Country Memorial Hospice in Fredericksburg, TX. Designate Hearts for Hospice under “give now” in memory of Ricky Dean Cannon, www.hillcountrymemorial.org or MD Anderson: The Colon Cancer Fund for Colon Cancer Research and the Stukalin Family Endowment at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Center. Donations can be mailed to MD Anderson, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486, memo line c/o Dr. Kopetz/David Stukalin.

The family would also like to thank Betsy Hamilton and Hill Country Memorial Hospice staff for their unwavering, loving commitment to Rick’s end-of-life care and support for Audrey and their family. In addition, we extend heartfelt thanks and recognition for the unlimited generosity, knowledge, and time of Connie Barron.

Rick will be remembered by many each day as the sun rises over the greens and birds light at the feeders.
