Flat Die Extrusion Process – Uniform Consistency, Highest Quality
Agru America is the only U.S. manufacturer using the flat die extrusion calendered process to produce structured geomembranes for the U.S. and International civil/environmental market.
To ensure highest quality, consistency and uniformity, our suppliers deliver resin materials directly to our production facilities located in Georgetown, South Carolina and Fernley, Nevada. All material is then sampled, checked against the supplier’s quality control certifications, tested and then approved before being released to production.
The production process begins when the raw resin and master batch (carbon black) is heated and mixed through the extruder. When the molten plastic comes out of the die lip, in 23’ wide sheets, it goes through a set of calendared, controlled cooling rollers.
At this point, the material is rolled to the correct thickness, embossed or textured, and then cooled.
By extruding our materials in-house, Agru is able to manufacture one-layer products with unique surface structures such as spikes or drain studs. All Agru geomembranes feature uniform structure and appearance throughout and consistently receive rave reviews from the field for ease of installation, durability, and highest quality.
